SEOUL: K-pop girl group 2NE1’s leader CL looks set to follow in the footsteps of her group mates Bom and Dara, who have both released successful solo singles in the past.
The group’s management agency YG Entertainment announced Wednesday that CL will release her first solo single on May 28, reported Korean media.
She is also expected to embark on a variety of promotional activities for the new single following its release.
Consisting of CL, Bom, Dara and Minzy, 2NE1 has toured extensively since its debut in 2009 and is best known for its hit songs like “Fire” and “I Love You”.
The group is scheduled to perform at the Asia Style Collection 2013 fashion event, at the Singapore Expo on June 22.
