The homegrown singer-songwriter went home with top honours for his achievements and contributions to the local music industry

 

An awards ceremony recognizing the top talents and local musicians in sunny Singapore, the 17th Compass Awards which was held over the weekend at Marina Bay Sands convention Centre, saw Mandopop singer JJ Lin, 31, go home the biggest winner with his triple win for Top Local Songwriter, Top Local Chinese Pop Song and Top Local Artiste of the Year.

Fellow local songbird Tanya Chua, who recently made headlines at the Taiwan Golden Melody Awards with her prestigious win for Best Female Singer award – her third win in this category – was also conferred the Artistic Excellence Award for her outstanding performances and achievements over the years.

Wilber Pan, who had once admitted to liking Jolin Tsai, praised S.H.E. member Hebe Tien for being “cute and pretty” yesterday.

At an event for the 2012′s Metro Street Dance Competition in Taiwan yesterday, which the singer is ambassador of, Wilber gave a candid shout-out to Jolin Tsai, , whom he had admitted to admire in 2005.

“You must still like me,” Wilber jokes, before giving his blessings to Jolin, who is currently in a stable relationship with model Vivian Dawson.

The 31-year-old went on to lavish praises on fellow singer Hebe saying that she is “very cute, and is getting prettier”.

Wilber also added that the songstress is “full of talent and (will have) a lot of guys will fall in love with her.”

However, when the media present informed him that Singaporean singer JJ Lin likes Hebe too, even to the extent of calling her his “goddess”, Wilber appeared shocked and expressed his disbelief.

“That can’t be!” he exclaimed.

In other related news, Wilber is due to perform his new song during the finals of the competition and hopes that fans will anticipate his new album.

JJ Lin Gets Support From S.H.E’s Hebe Tien

Singapore singer, JJ Lin, failed to get any nominations for this year’s Taiwan Golden Melody Awards, leading many to question the ceremony’s credibility.

JJ expressed his disappointment at not receiving a nomination on his microblog yesterday. The singer added that he “respects the judges’ decisions” and believed that “it is more important if everyone accepts my music.”

“There’s no need to console me [for not getting nominated] because I know I still have a long way, and many more good songs to write. I believe that in the music scene, good music will be the music that can be accepted by everyone,” the 31-year-old continued in the post on his microblog.

JJ’s statement received support from netizens and the singer’s “goddess”, S.H.E. member Hebe Tien reposted his message for the first time, adding that JJ is “very good! I acknowledge your work!”

This caused a buzz on the Internet as netizens urged the pair to “get together” and joked with JJ that “Hebe’s encouragement is better than received a Golden Melody Award.”

Fellow S.H.E. member, JJ’s good friend Ella Chen even teased the singer, “This time round, you are on cloud nine!!”

Singapore singer JJ Lin met his ideal girlfriend, S.H.E. member, Hebe Tien, at the backstage of the recent China’s Music Radio awards ceremony, but went home empty handed without her contact information as he is “too shy” to exchange numbers with her.

The 31-year-old singer first confessed that Hebe is his ideal girlfriend type in January this year and finally bumped into her at the backstage of a recent awards ceremony. They congratulated one another, snapped a picture together, but did not exchange contact information.

After the encounter, Hebe gave her two-cents worth on JJ and told reporters that he is a “very shy” person. She added that JJ “did not ask for my number and therefore we did not exchange contact information.”

 

They bumped into one another again at the show’s after-party and JJ offered the 29-year-old singer a drink of appreciation when he was told of her comments. Despite so, the shy singer did not leave his contact with the songstress.

 

Meanwhile, Hebe who was crowned the Most Popular Female Singer of the night expressed her confidence in her album’s production team. She humbly claimed that she “still has a lot of room for improvement” when asked to rate her winning chances in the upcoming Taiwan Golden Melody Awards in June.

 

The songstress let on that S.H.E. will being album preparations in July and expressed her wish to hold the trio’s concert at the Beijing Olympic Stadium.

Singer Hebe Tien from the girl group S.H.E, recently commented on about herself being the last one to marry since her band mates Selina Jen and the newly engaged Ella Chen, the message she left, “I’ve been receiving messages like “you’re the only one left”, “when is your turn” to remind me that I’m the only unmarried one.”

Hebe encouraged herself, “Hebe, don’t feel pressurised.”

Selina gave some encouraging words for Hebe,”Don’t worry, Cupid should be reading this. With so many well wishes, you’ll find someone soon.”

Even Hebe’s fans were being matchmakers by writing Hebe is “marriage material”. The unmarried singer responded to her fans, “They’re so helpful, but I’m just letting nature takes its course now,” she said, adding that her fans are more enthusiastic about her marriage than she is.

In a previous blog article, singer JJ Lin who has out his latest album”Lost N Found” has a major crush on Hebe, Lin said that Hebe was his ideal type but not sure if he’s her type.

Maybe, these twp could arrange a date in the future; however, it’s most important to concertrate on her music career and let a relationship that invovles marriage slowly come into her life. There’s no need to rush.

Singer JJ Lin responded to the media whether or not he had some work done on his teeth, also, he answered a personal question on his love life.

Lin commented on the gossip over him under going cosmetic surgery, “I really wish I could delete those old clips. Since we’re on the topic of cosmetic surgery, I did a minor procedure on my teeth previously. If anyone can produce proof that I did work on other parts of myself, I’ll admit to it.”

Lin revealed his thoughts on relationships, ”I’m someone who values relationship, especially when I’m certain she is the one. I’ll protect and fight to for a beautiful memory, so that the relationship goes on. Perhaps because of that, I tend to rush into things and if I’m faced with difficulties, I have trouble overcoming them,” he said.

Furthermore, Lin opened up about a relationship that collapsed due to a busy music career, the more I try to protect the relationship, the more pressurised I was.”

According to Xin, Lin expressed that he “had always liked S.H.E member Hebe” and he went on to say “their relationship did not develop further”. ”Maybe we need to wait for an opportunity,” he said.

In a previous interview, Lin didn’t hold back when he said, ”She is my type, but I may not be the type of guy she likes.”

Lin’s new album is titled “Lost N Found” is available for purchase, it was released on December 31, 2011.

Mandopop R&B style singer JJ Lin will be releasing his new album “Lost N Found” on Warner Music.

When asked where he gets inspirations for his songs, he said, ”All of my songs are written from my own personal experiences,” Lin further said, ”a single experience may be interpreted in different ways.” He continued to state, ”When I look back on the things I’ve been through, I’ve realized that no matter how mature we become, sometimes we just never learn how to love.”

Lin talked about his songwriting and the music genres he chose for his new album, “I am quite satisfied with the new album. It is a collection that I’ve been working on during two years of songwriting and composing. I injected deep feelings and emotions into the music as well as sensitive impulses. I have tried some music genres for the first time, such as jazz, electronic dance, rock-and-roll, and also a combination of classic and modern sounds.

According to Xinhuannet, Lin said he hopes to bring a more dynamic “New JJ” to his fans and the Chinese music scene.

Never Learn has received over one million views on YouTube since the video was uploaded on December 13, 2011 and it’s one of the most requested song on the airwaves.

Lost N Found hits the market on December 31, 2011, New Year’s Eve.
