According to Wikipedia, Thomasina Winifred Montgomery, known as Tammi Terrell (April 29, 1945 – March 16, 1970) was an American recording artist and songwriter most notable for her association with Motown Records and her duets with Marvin Gaye.
As a teenager she recorded for the Scepter-Wand, Try Me and Checker record labels. She signed with Motown in April 1965 and enjoyed modest success as a solo singer. Once she was paired with Gaye in 1967, her stardom grew, but on October 14 of that year she collapsed on stage into Gaye’s arms during a performance.
She was soon thereafter diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor which eventually led to her death at age 24.

Park Ji-min, a 15-year-old middle school student, won SBS’ “K-Pop Star” audition on Sunday to emerge as the youngest winner — and first female victor — of any of the nation’s recent TV audition shows. Park beat fellow teenager Lee Ha-yi in the final episode that was broadcast live after capturing the attention of world news media and Hollywood celebrities.
She captivated judges immediately with her stage manner and excellent singing skills. When she performed “Rolling in The Deep” by British singer Adele in a preliminary event, two of the three judges — BoA and Park Jin-young — hurrahed, an event that even featured of CNN’s coverage. Actor Ashton Kutcher also posted the footage on his Twitter account, and the CBS talk show “The Talk” asked Park to appear on the show. When she was picked as the winner, she said she felt like all her hard work had paid off.
Born in Daejeon, Park emigrated to Thailand with her family at the age of five. She seems to have inherited her talent from her parents, who were singers either in popular or Christian music genres.
“We heard that Park’s parents like music, so they wanted their daughter to become a good singer as she grew up. They devoted themselves to her education. And Park learned swimming, ballet and golf from her childhood. The family came back to Korea so she could get a good education in music,” SBS said.
Park received prize money of W300 million and a luxury car (US$1=W1,135). She will also get the opportunity to release an album through one of the nation’s three major management agencies — SM, YG or JYP.

“Never Would Have Made It” is the biggest gospel hit of the past decade, and the man who sings it, Marvin Sapp, is quite possibly the biggest name in gospel today — a development that still surprises the Michigan pastor.
“I’m blown away by how that song has had the impact that it has had on so many people,” Sapp tells NPR’s Guy Raz. “All of us, I’ve learned, have gone through ‘never would have made it’ moments, and that’s the reason why I believe that it resonates so strongly in so many people’s lives.”
Sapp’s last record made its debut at No. 2 on the Billboard albums chart, the highest debut for a gospel record in half a century. Since then, he has lived through the tragic loss of his wife, MaLinda, to cancer in 2010. Sapp says he wanted to “sit back and just give up” after her death, but that a comment from his then-11-year-old daughter Madison convinced him to keep going.
“The day after she passed, that morning at 6 a.m. my kids were up getting ready for school,” Sapp says. “And I was like, ‘You don’t have to go to school today — Mommy just went to be home with the Lord yesterday.’ And she said, ‘No, no, Daddy. We’ve got to go to school because Mommy would want us to keep it moving.’
“That’s what we’ve been doing ever since, me and my children — we’ve been keeping it moving,” Sapp says. “What I’ve learned is the best way to honor someone who has passed on is to live.”

It was revealed that “Stairway to Heaven” actor Lee Wan was officially discharged from the military.
As reported on Allkpop website, on 23 April, an event was held at Defense Agency for Public Information Services in Yongsan to celebrate Lee Wan’s discharge. Despite the uninviting weather, the media and his fans – both local and international came to welcome his return.
The actor, who is also actress Kim Tae-hee’s brother was asked about the absence of his sister, to which he answered jokingly, “She didn’t come to see me although she lived nearby. She didn’t even know I was being discharged today when I called her. She kept talking about how she broke her computer instead.”
He also enthused that Kim Tae-hee helped him a lot during his time in the military, “When I was serving in the military, I gave nearly 2,000 autographs of my sister away so I could have an easy time in the military!”
And in the “traditional” obligatory question asked to all stars that were discharged from the military, Lee Wan was also asked which girl group he liked the best. He replied, “I like 2NE1, and I even had their picture up in my cubby. Park Bom is my favourite member, and she was a great source of strength during my service.”

You’ve been to Singapore so many times. What are some of your most memorable moments in Singapore?
Every moment is memorable to me — the number of fans who welcomed me at the airport and gave me their warm reception and support during my stay in Singapore. I also look forward to attending this fan meeting.
You have a song called ‘Lucky Guy’. Do you think you’re a lucky person? Why?
I think I am a very happy person currently, because I can do both music and acting, and is well-loved by people when doing both.
What’s the biggest difference between Hallyu star Kim Hyun Joong and normal guy Kim Hyun Joong?
I feel that Hallyu star Kim Hyun Joong and normal guy Kim Hyun Joong is very different. Hallyu star Kim Hyun Joong tries to show his perfect side to the fans, whereas the normal Kim Hyun Joong leads a normal life just like the others. I spend my time reading cartoons and playing soccer.
What are some of your future plans? Will you be releasing another album, or participate in any drama this year?
I want to be able to do well in both music and acting, and not just focus on one particular area. This year, I plan to have album activities and acting. While preparing for this upcoming fan meeting, I’m also looking at good drama or movie scripts. I’ll try to show my fans a better side, so please look forward to it.
