Model-actress Payal Rohatgi and her romantic squeeze Sangram Singh are finally engaged, reported Bollywood Life.
The 29-year-old model-actress has been co-habiting with the wrestler for quite some time back, so it comes as no surprise when the couple announced their engagement in Ahemdabad on 27 February on Rohatgi’s Twitter.
“Today on this auspicious day of Mahashivratri I am engaged to my jaan Sangram Singh. Thank you Lord Shiva for your blessings always,” she posted.
The couple met on the set of the reality television show “Survivor India” in 2011, and they started dating a year later. The two also starred in Krishan Kumar’s romantic thriller film “Valentine’s Night” together, although it ended up being critically panned.
Actress Pratyusha Banerjee, who recently had to film her cameo part in “Love Dosti Dua” on the BIG Magic channel, ended up causing the filming crew problems when she gave notice of poor health issues.
Bollywood Life reported that the actress was supposed to perform with choreographer-actor Punit Pathak but Pratyusha called someone to call the production crew, citing health issues. Later, the actress’ representative called again and informed the crew that Pratyusha has been hospitalised.
As this was not the actress’ first time doing this, the producers are angry with her as they have wasted the whole day waiting. The company incurred huge losses for not being able to complete filming according to schedule.
In the end, the crew then roped in Ishita Sharma, who is currently hosting “Dance India Dance”, to replace Pratyusha.
While Poonam Pandey, Sunny Leone and Veena Malik are signing films, attending events, posting news on social networking websites, our very own Sherlyn Chopra is lazing around the sets of her upcoming film Kamasutra 3D wearing nothing!
And as Sherlyn has to wear nothing, or very little in several of the film’s scenes, she chooses to be in her body suit even while she is relaxing.
Sherlyn Chopra recently posted a photo on Twitter that shows her wearing nothing and she is covering her nudity with a mere cup of coffee!
The First Photo: Hey ya!!! Have been filming the #EpicFilm since 8AM this mornin.. Coffee break toh banta hai ab… What r u upto..?
Being just a few films old in the industry Shraddha Kapoor has reportedly already landed herself in hot water, the actress earlier turned down the role in ‘Welcome Back’ opposite John Abraham, because she doesn’t want to work with older actors. This statement landed her brother siddhant in trouble with the actor, who worked with him in Shootout at Waddala (2013)
“Siddhant has made dozens of calls to John, which he has ignored. He cannot understand why an actress who is one-hit-old is making a big deal about not working with ‘older heroes’. And who is she to turn down a film with John? And if Shraddha doesn’t want to work with actors in their 40s, why her manager has been calling for her to audition for Gabbar, opposite Akshay Kumar?.” Confirmed a source
And its not just John the actress has turned down “She has managed to tick off all the top actors. Earlier, she tom-tommed about rejecting a film opposite Abhishek Bachchan. There is no dearth of heroines for these top actors. She can work with Varun Dhawan, Siddharth Malhotra and Arjun Kapoor but how long will she last in the industry with this attitude?” the source goes onto add.
Shraddha Kapoor will next be seen in ‘Gori Tere Pyaar Mein’ with Kareena Kapoor and Imran Khan.

A 26-year-old Nepali actor in Bollywood has been murdered by two struggling Indian actors by decapitating her head in the Indian city of Gorakhpur, news reports quoting the Indian police said.
Mumbai Police Crime Branch arrested Amit Jaiswal, 36 and Preeti Elvina Surin, 26 on Saturday night from Bandra in India’s financial capital Mumbai, home to Bollywood cinema, for allegedly murdering Minakshi Thapa, a Nepali actor in Mumbai, according to the Indian Express.
Thapa had settled in Dehradun before moving to Mumbai to pursue an acting career.
The duo had been carrying the severed head of actor Thapa for two days, before throwing it out of a bus on their way to Mumbai. This was after the duo had disposed her body, they said. Thapa had gone missing a month ago from her Lokhandwala residence.
According to the Indian Express report, Jaiswal and Surin had befriended Thapa at a film shoot. Thapa had told the duo that she was from a rich family and was working in Bollywood simply to pursue her hobby, said police officers.
Police said Jaiswal had not been earning much when he met Surin. The two had then started coaching classes which incurred losses.
“The couple then planned to kidnap Thapa and demand ransom from her father. On March 13, they lured Thapa to Allahabad for a film shoot. After killing her in Gorakhpur, they acquired her ATM card and mobile SIM card,” an unnamed police officer told the Express.
The accused then allegedly made calls to Thapa’s mother demanding a ransom of Rs15 lakh. They allegedly threatened Thapa’s family by saying that they would shoot a blue film featuring Thapa and would kill her if their demand were not met. According to the police, the duo had instructed Thapa’s brother Navraj to deposit the cash in Thapa’s account. Navraj had then registered a kidnapping complaint with Dehradun police which was later transferred to Amboli police station.
Police said Navraj had given kidnappers Rs 60,000 while the police was searching for them.
“At first Jaiswal and Surin denied their involvement. However, Jaiswal admitted that Thapa had given her mobile and ATM card to him while she was in Allahabad with her boyfriend. After continous, Surin confessed to the crime. The two, however, have not told the police where they have disposed Thapa’s body. Even if we find the body, we might not be able to find Thapa’s head as the accused do not remember where exactly they threw it,” the officer told the Express. MORE NEWS ON THIS STORY:
Mumbai: Meenakshi Thapa, a small-time actress who was seen in the movie ‘404’ and a few commercials on TV, had earlier been reported missing. Two of her associates, Amit Kumar Jaiswal and Priti Elvina Suri, have been arrested for murdering the actress.
The body of Thapa was hacked to pieces and dumped in a septic tank, and the severed head was thrown out of a moving bus. The two accused have confessed to the murder and have been arrested for the same.
Jaiswal and Surin had met Thapa on the sets of a shoot in Mumbai, and were under the impression that Thapa belonged to an affluent family from Nepal, and had taken up acting as a mere hobby. The two accused had then lured Thapa to Allahabad for a supposed film shoot scheduled there. However, when the two learnt the truth about Thapa, they murdered the actress. The two junior artistes are now in police custody.
NEWS FROM THE GATE WAY PUNDIT:
Fellow actors kidnapped, beheaded and chopped up actress Meenakshi Thapa in India.
The beheaded body of a small-time model and Bollywood starlet Meenakshi Thapa was recovered from the sewage tank of a house where the father of a woman, arrested along with her paramour for the murder by the Mumbai Police, lives as a tenant. Meenakshi Thapa’s chopped body parts were found in Allahabad.
India Today reported on the brutal murder.
Acting was small-time Bollywood actor Meenakshi Thapa’s love, but playacting took her life.
She was kidnapped and brutally beheaded last month by two aspiring actors she befriended on the sets of Madhur Bhandarkar’s yet-to-be-released film Heroine, where she did a bit role.
Her killers Amit Jaiswal (36) and his lover Preeti Elvina Surin dumped the torso in a water tank and carried the severed head in a bag before throwing it out of a moving bus.
Jaiswal and Surin confessed before the Mumbai Police after their arrest on Saturday night that they were taken in by the 26-year-old struggling actor’s pretentious stories about her “affluent family”.
“The accused believed that Thapa was from a wealthy family because her lifestyle, despite not landing a big film role, hid the fact that she actually came from a middleclass background. Hence, they plotted to kidnap her for a ransom of Rs.15 lakh and kill her after the payment was made,” a police officer said.
Meenakshi was a struggler who earlier played a minor role in last year’s horror flick 404 and did some TV commercials. Her Nepalese-origin family has settled in Dehradun some years ago. Like her, Jaiswal and Surin were struggling for a toehold in the film industry.
The killers held onto the head for two days. Mid-Day reported:
She had played a bit part in the 2011 horror film 404 that spooked audiences. But, the uncut tale of small-time actress Meenakshi Thapa’s murder is considerably more unnerving. According to cops, the two advocates-cum-struggling actors, who were arrested by unit IX of Mumbai crime branch on Saturday night, were carrying the severed head of the 26-year-old for two days before throwing it out of a moving bus.

One may accuse the makers of Hate Story to be going a little overboard here but prod them on and they seem to be quite serious about the comparisons being made. If the unabashed erotic content put on display by debutant Paoli Dam for HATE STORY wasn’t enough then here is more.
As per director Vivek Agnihotri, she is – hold your breath – the next Kajol in the making and would soon establish her presence as an actress par excellence who won’t be restricting herself to only those films that are abound with skin show and foul language.
”Vivek’s confidence in her stems from the fact that he has seen her award winning work in Bengali cinemas as well and is totally astounded by the range she has shown so far,” says an assistant of the director, ”When the initial talks were on, he point blank asked her if she was willing to stand naked in front of the camera.
The moment she nodded in affirmation without any questions asked, Vivek knew that here was one actress who boasted of a universal cosmopolitan mindset. Though there are many girls willing to drop their clothes, it is rare to find someone who is extremely talented and yet so uninhibited about nudity.”
While one continues to be amazed with the comparisons being made, especially since Kajol has seldom been known to drop clothes, Paoli’s director is unstoppable by this time.
Says Vivek, ”The point I am making is about confidence and attitude, not skin show. For such actresses, after a point you don’t just care about their physicality; instead you see their eyes and know there and then how they are performing on a scene.
This is the reason why Kajol and Madhuri are the milestone actresses and now Paoli too is up there. She was always acclaimed as an actress in Bengal; now she would be popular on an all-India level.”
