It was revealed that mainland Chinese idol group HIT-5’s leader, Guo Ziyu, has recently withdrawn from the group.
According to QQ, despite his participation in the group’s new album, the singer announced his departure on 4 July, during HIT-5’s comeback showcase, supported by an official statement from the other members that Guo will be leaving the group after concluding the promotions for their album, “How Are You Doing”.
The statement read, “Due to our differences in regards to HIT-5 future developments, we have made a decision with our company that from now on, leader Guo Ziyu will be concentrating on his acting career.”
The statement also detailed that HIT-5 will function as a four-member group for the time being.
When asked regarding his departure, Guo revealed that it was not a choice he himself made, but in compliance with their company’s decision.
Guo expressed, “The company thinks that I am more suitable for acting. I respect their decision. But I have been with HIT-5 for five years and will never give-up on music.”
In related news, HIT-5’s latest album, “How Are You Doing”, a blend of hip hop, electropop and disco, was officially released in mainland China on 5 July.
