According to Media Decoder “American Idol” may have officially crossed over from phenomenon to mere hit television show on Thursday, as the second outing of this year’s edition fell a steep 27 percent in the ratings from its performance on the same night last year – and 44 percent from its number two years ago.
Those figures are among the 18-to-49-year-old viewers who draw the most advertising dollars to the show. The results point to the kind of erosion that eventually affects just about every long-running show on television.
Initially, “Idol” appeared to have been beaten — narrowly — in the 8 to 8:30 p.m. half-hour by the CBS comedy hit “The Big Bang Theory,” which had a 5.2 rating in that 18-49 audience compared to a 5.1 for “Idol.” But adjusted national numbers indicated that the show had actually tied “Big Bang” with a 5.2 for the half-hour.
Those numbers were further adjusted Friday afternoon and showed “Big Bang” had indeed edged ahead with a 5.3 to a 5.2. The win was significant because no previous CBS entertainment show has finished ahead of “Idol” in those 18-49 viewers.
“Idol” scored a 6.3 rating for its second half-hour and averaged a 5.7 rating in the 18-49 measure for the full 8 to 9 p.m. hour, down from a 7.8 last year. That is a worse percentage falloff than the show experienced on Wednesday night, and it may be a signal that viewers will not latch on to the series this year as they have in the past. Perhaps most telling, two years ago on its second night of the season, “Idol” had a 10.1 rating.
In terms of total viewers, “Idol” was down a bit less, 21 percent from last year. It averaged 18 million on Thursday, down from 22.9 million a year ago.
By any standard, “Idol” remains a hit, but its power is clearly diminished. One effect can be seen in the 9 p.m. hour on Thursday, when “Idol” was not able to help a new drama, “The Finder.” The Fox network easily won the 8 p.m. hour with “Idol,” but it fell to last place in the 9 p.m. hour.
In my opinion Season 8 was the best Idol ever, Adam Lambert was Outstanding and should have been the winner, on the other hand he is a winner. No American Idol For Me.

SAN FRANCISCO – America’s Most Wanted Host John Walsh said goodbye and thanked the viewers for watching for over 20 years. FOX canceled the show claiming it was too expensive to produce. The show was canceled once before and viewers of the show formed a petition to bring the show back, hopefully, the show could be brought back on cable. Walsh said the show took a lot of criminals off the streets and viewers were grateful and felt safer.
While people are watching Non-Celebrity reality and cooking shows on FOX, fugitives will be breaking into homes raping and killing. Local news can only take it so far. Walsh show tracked rapist, murderers, child molesters and others and got justice. America’s Most Wanted Should Never Be Canceled. Criminals are celebrating!

YouTube auditions will end June 9, solo artists and vocal groups — you must be at least 12 years old — can submit an audition video on YouTube at youtube.com/theXfactorusa.
Good Luck to the contestants and I can’t wait to see the show, this show allows a wide range of ages.

SAN FRANCISCO – American Idol Scotty McCreery has a new name “Scotty’s Hotties!” given to him by his hometown fans, friends and family. North Carolina has turned out 6 other contenders and Scotty Hottie will be lucky number 7. The list includes Runner-up Clay Aiken, Idol Winner Fantasia Barrino, Country Star Kellie Pickler, Rocker Chris Daughtry, Country Singer Bucky Covington, R&B singer Anoop Desai and now Country singer American Idol Season 10 winner Scotty McCreery which I predict but we will have to see tonight. Will Scotty’s teenage girl fans band together and vote for their favorite? or Will Steven Tyler’s favorite Lauren Alaina win the Idol title? North Carolina keeps turning out strong contenders. However, American Idol Judges favors Lauren Alaina. Whatever the rigged results may be, the winner is going to be a teenage country star.

I just cracked the case. American Idol season 10 voting system is rigged. If you are one of my regular readers of my blogs then you will know that I have already said American Idol picks what they don’t have for a particular season. The two contestants Scotty McCreery and Lauren Alaina, one male and one female, both teens both country.
No matter how many or how least amount of votes, the two final contestants would still be the same as well. Idol did not want or need Haley Reinhart. Jealousy and a fake rigged voting system is the meaning of American Idol. They have the viewers thinking they are the ones voting. Besides, It’s always “The First Ever” with Idol. The first of what they don’t have.
I watched American Idol from season 2-8 and here is what happens each season. My overall favorite was season 8 with the incredible Adam Lambert placed second to the winner Kris Allen. Lambert was given an enormous amount of attention and most of the time he received praised reviews from the judges plus caputuring Americas hearts with his unique style but at the end they turned on him by cheating with power voting for Allen and voted against him because he’s gay.
Season 7 it was the two “Davids”, David Cook and David Archuleta which Cook deserved to win, he was superb. Season 6 Jordin Sparks won the title but Melinda Doolittle who placed third had the better voice. Sparks had the looks and age that Idol wanted to market. Season 5 Idol wanted a Michael McDonald sound, so they chose soul patrol Taylor Hicks. However, Hicks was unable to prove he earned the title when it came down to the Billboard charts and record sells which he failed.
American Idol didn’t show Paula Abdul the money which led her to leave and now she’s headed to The X Factor to join Simon Cowell.
