“Helter Skelter” has taken a heavy toll on Japanese actress Sawajiri Eriki, as she has been reported to be on hiatus due to poor health conditions since early May.
According to Tokyo Hive, Sawajiri was forced to cancel her promotional activities for her comeback film, and might not even be able to appear on the premiere of the movie in July if her health condition does not improve.
“Because of her poor physical condition, the promotional events will be canceled,” a media statement from her agency said.
Causes of her health’s deterioration were not officially known, but sources believed that her leading role in the adaptation of Okazaki Kyoko’s manga about a top idol, Ririko, who undergoes a full-body plastic surgery and becomes famous but then suffers the aftereffects, could have a negative impact on her physical and mental well-being.
The movie generated some buzz since it has some challenging sex scenes and it was Sawajiri’s first movie role since the controversial “Closed Note”.
“In her upcoming movie, she’s challenged herself to intense sexual scenes. She’s an actress who becomes absorbed into her roles, so the heroine Ririko wouldn’t leave her body for a long time. She seemed to be down,” said a source from the film industry.
“It’s filled with scenes of mental confusion; it’s a dangerous role so it’s not strange that her spirit would fall apart. I don’t have the courage to have our actresses play the role,” another source said.
Her agency has said that Sawajiri was advised by her doctors to take a good rest for a while and would only be resuming her activities at the appropriate time by her doctors.
According to BonyEntertainment02, The first teaser for Helter Skelter live-action film adaptation.
The film is due for release in Japan on July 14, 2012.
Actress Erika Sawajiri makes her return to the big screen after a 5 year hiatus.
The movie based on Kyoko Okazaki’s manga “Helter Skelter” (published by Shoudensha in 2003). Manga “Helter Skelter was the 2004 Grand Winner of the Tezuka Osamu Cultural Prize.

Even after their divorce, there is never less attention from the media regarding Japanese stars Takaoka Sosuke and Miyazaki Aoi’s marriage on the headlines of tabloid magazines; the most recent being Takaoka’s newly unleashed storm of bitterness in the form of tweets.
According to Tokyo Hive, the actor was relentlessly attacking his ex-wife, Miyazaki Aoi, her agency, and V6’s Okada Junichi, who he claimed was having an affair with Miyazaki when they were still married.
Bear in mind that this is a new Twitter account for Takaoka, as his previous account was deleted due to his hateful tweet about the ‘Korean New Wave’, which also led to his resignation from his agency and the derailment of his career. Despite a new start in the social networking verse, Takaoka’s tweets still consist of the same old bitterness regarding his failed marriage.
According to his side of the story, Miyazaki was involved in several affairs even though she was his wife, one of which involved Okada. He called Okada “such an immoral man that he even makes a move on a wife while her husband is overseas”, referring to the time when Takaoka was in Korea, where he ended up making the unfortunate tweet on Korean culture.
Takaoka also accused Miyazaki’s agency, Hirata Office, for spreading rumours that the divorce was because of him, and that they were doing it to make him responsible for the damages.
“Some sponsors were demanding compensation from them and that’s why their employees started spreading all kind of rumours about me,” he mentioned in one of his tweets.
But the biggest attack was against his ex-wife, who he not only said to be “not such a great actress”, but claimed that she had several affairs, and has a “rotten brain”.
“In the midst of the husband getting attacked by the mass media, the wife suddenly leaves the house. He isn’t able to get in contact with her nor is she willing to have a talk with him at all.
“How can you feel sorry for a woman who is saying that she’s the happiest [she’s been] after the break-up, even though it was her who was committing adultery during that period? I pity her fans who just believe whatever she says,” he wrote in one tweet.
He added, “Come to think of it, I was always made out as the bad guy in this marriage. You don’t know how relieved I felt when I was finally released from this situation.
However, when asked about his trip to a love hotel with gravure idol Kinbara Asuka back in 2009, he denied that they had done anything during that night.
“There was nothing at all, not even a kiss,” he replied in a tweet.
Actress Meisa Kuroki, 23, has officially announced that she is pregnant. The announcement was made on her blog on Sunday, several weeks after it was widely reported by media.
Kuroki, who was rumored to be pregnant when she married singer Akanishi Jin, 27, back in February, told fans, “I’m finally able to officially announce that I am four months pregnant.” She went on to apologize for the delay in the announcement.
Both Kuroki and Akanishi publicly denied their relationship and failed to confirm widespread reports that Kuroki was pregnant at the time of their marriage.
“Right now, I feel mentally and physically well. I’m happy and grateful to have been blessed with a child,” she wrote.
Kuroki’s agency has announced that she is to appear in the play, “Miyazawa Kenji ga Tsutaeru Koto,” on May 12-13 at Setagaya Public Theater, before going on maternity leave. She reportedly plans to return to work sometime after giving birth.

According to Tokyo Hive, Akimoto had shared on his Google+ account that Matsui had suffered from anaemia and exhaustion from overworking and has instructed her to take plenty of sleep and nourishment to recover.
“Jurina is resting with her mom,” Akimoto said and added; “I am keeping in touch with both Jurina and her mum, and I told them not to worry about work. So if there’s a sudden change in schedule, I’m sorry.”
Jurina had been absent from SKE48 activities since 5 April after stretching her limits during a performance in February and most recently at the AKB48 mega-concert in the Saitama Super Arena recently.
Japanese actor Nagayama Kento has been hospitalised after suffering a broken knee from a motor accident.
According to Tokyo Hive, Nagayama fell over his motorcycle while on his way back home from voice training. A witness called the emergency services and he was sent to the hospital, where he had to endure surgery.
Nagayama is expected to be hospitalised for a month until he recovers.
Meanwhile, his agency’s official website commented on Nagayama’s accident; “After the accident, Nagayama is fully conscious, and he deeply regrets what he has caused due to his own carelessness. He is admonishing himself for what he has done, and has decided to devote his time to treatments.”

Singer Akanishi Jin and actress Kuroki Meisa’s marriage are off to a rocky start as Johnny’s Entertainment has cancelled Akanishi’s Japan tour as punishment for his sudden marriage announcement to Kuroki.
According to Tokyo Hive, Akanishi was scheduled for a five city tour in his home country, starting from April to May. However, just as the agency was about to announce the dates of the concerts, Akanishi went ahead and made the announcement about his marriage to Kuroki.
This had upset the agency because Akanishi had failed to inform his agency about his intentions to marry Kuroki first before making the news public. Therefore, the agency decided to make him responsible for his actions by cancelling his tour.
Although the dates of the seven concerts were never announced since it was cancelled after Akanishi’s announcement, the agency has decided to make him pay for the cancellation fees for each of the venues that had been booked for the tour, which is believed to run into the millions of Yen for each location.
Meanwhile, Kuroki made her first public appearance at a product launch for Bandai since she was forced to cancel all her public appearances, including the release event for her latest album in February, after the announcement.
During the event, Kuroki said that she was happy and her physical condition was ‘alright’, although some reports suggest that Kuroki was three months pregnant.
When asked about her alleged pregnancy, she replied; “I will talk about it at another time.”
Akanish and Kuroki registered their marriage on 2 February of this year.

Following weeks of controversy, Taiwan singer-actress Makiyo and her male Japanese friend Takateru Tomoyori arrived at a settlement with Lin Yu Jun, the cabby driver they attacked last month, during the second hearing of their cabby assault case at the Taipei District Court on Thursday, reported Taiwan media.
The cabby driver who was attacked by the pair, offered to settle the case for NT$3.8 million (S$162,500).
This sum was later brought down to NT$3 million (S$128,000), following discussions between the lawyers of all three parties.
According to Tomoyori’s lawyer, Tomoyori and Makiyo will come up with NT$1.5 million (S$64,100) each.
In light of the settlement, prosecutors have also revised the penalties they sought for Makiyo from a four-year prison term to a 16 month-term, which they propose to have commuted to four years probation, pointing out that she had no prior convictions and deserved a slightly lighter sentence.
They also accepted Tomoyori’s explanation that he had only assaulted Lin for Makiyo’s sake and revised the six-year jail term they originally sought for Tomoyori to a two-year jail term, which they proposed to have commuted to five years probation.
Makiyo appeared visibly relieved after the settlement was reached, and stood silently beside her lawyer as she addressed the media after the hearing.
“I believe Makiyo will work harder to resolve the problems she presently has. I hope everyone can forgive Makiyo and give Makiyo a chance to turn over a new leaf,” said the star’s lawyer.
Toyomori also took some time to speak to the horde of reporters who gathered around him when he exited the Taipei District Court.
“I am grateful to the judge and the prosecutors for giving me another chance. I apologise to the whole of Taiwan society for my actions and hope Lin recovers soon,” said Tomoyori.
Taiwan’s Council of Labour Affairs confirmed Monday that Taiwan singer-actress Makiyo’s work permit had been voided on February 16, after she was found to have been involved in a cabby assault case, reported Taiwan media.
Under Taiwan law, foreign workers in Taiwan like Makiyo, who hails from Japan, will have their work permits voided if they commit any serious violation of local laws.
As a result of having her work permit voided, Makiyo must leave Taiwan after her cabby assault case concludes, and will not be able to apply for another Taiwan work permit within the next three years.
Still, she may not be able to leave even if she wants to.
Taiwan prosecutors have earlier charged Makiyo with causing grievous hurt to a cabby during an altercation last month, and are seeking a four-year jail term for the star.
They are also asking for a six-year jail sentence for Makiyo’s male Japanese friend Takateru Tomoyori, who, like Makiyo, has been charged with causing grievous hurt to the cabby during the altercation.
Popular idol group AKB48 will sing the national anthem before the Central League season-opening baseball game between the Yomiuri Giants and the Yakult Swallows at Tokyo Dome on March 30.
Giants officials said they wanted AKB48 to sing the anthem because the group is having a banner month, not just with its performances but also for the fact that it was chosen by the government to take part in a suicide prevention campaign.
AKB48 member Atsuko Maeda, 20, told reporters that the Giants’ opening game at Tokyo Dome will be the biggest stage for the group.

Taiwan singer-actress Makiyo’s lawyer Hsu Ling Zhu told reporters that Makiyo was willing to compensate the cabby she allegedly attacked, NT$2 million (S$84,800), if he agreed to settle the case out of court, reported Taiwan media.
Hsu revealed that the NT$2 million (S$84,800) partially consisted of funds earmarked for Makiyo’s mother’s cancer treatments, as she had no other means of raising that money in such a short time.
Speaking to the media after the first hearing of Makiyo’s cabby assault case on Thursday, Hsu produced a signed NT$2 million (S$84,800) cheque Makiyo had prepared for the cabby.
Hsu went on to reveal that Makiyo sincerely hoped to settle the matter amicably and had taken great pains to raise the money.
She stressed that Makiyo’s NT$2 million (S$84,800) cheque is meant to cover the cabby’s immediate expenses and did not represent the total sum Makiyo is prepared to compensate the cabby.
Hsu added that Makiyo will also cover any other treatment costs the driver may incur in the future as a result of the the incident, pointing out that the star’s compensation offer is a very generous one.
At the Thursday hearing, Makiyo and her male Japanese friend Taketeru Tomoyori pleaded not guilty to charges of causing grevious hurt to a cabby during an altercation last month, which left the cabby in hospital.
The two only agreed to plead guilty to the lesser charge of causing bodily harm.
Tomoyori has since offered to compensate the cabby as well, and said in a statement that he was prepared to accept whatever punishment the Taiwan courts mete out to him.
