T-ARA Is Changing Their Name

The quartet that we’ve always known to be T-ARA may not be called by that name anymore.

T-ARA’s former agency, MBK Entertainment has filed multiple copyrights to the name “T-ARA” as a trademark for their merchandise, performances, music, prints and more for the next 10 years.

They’ve filed for a copyright for nearly every aspect of the entertainment agency, making it virtually impossible for Eunjung, Hyomin, Qri, and Jiyeon to promote under the name T-ARA again.

Even if they re-debut under a new group name, the T-ARA members will have to pay royalty fees to MBK Entertainment should they wish to perform any of their old T-ARA songs.

Girls’ Generation‘s Seohyun Final Farewell Letter

“Even though I saw you off on your last journey..I still can’t believe this is real..the Jonghyun I’ve seen for the last 10 years was always bright and passionate.

You were an amazing person that gave laughter and joy to people around you..I respected that you sang with everything you had on stage and loved that when you were the most humane and warm person I knew off-stage.

I always thought of you as such a strong and awesome person..I feel stupid for being so limited in the way I saw you and I regret it..I was so close to you yet why couldn’t I see that side of you..why couldn’t I be there for hard things must have been..

I only found out now that you were enduring pain I can’t even imagine all alone..I’m so sorry..and you did so well..don’t hurt anymore and I pray that you can rest in the ever shining Jonghyun oppa..I will remember you forever..”

K-Pop Female Group Member Rumored To Have Contracted STD

Popular Korean magazine Woman Sense is making rounds on netizen forums for releasing a rumor report that a girl group member caught an STD from a male group member.

The article reads as follows:

Around mid last year, an informant told us that girl group member A and top idol group member B was spending time together at a hotel near Tokyo. Based on the time of day they met, their individual hotel room numbers, and the color of the clothes they were wearing, the evidence all supports the fact that the two were indeed spending time together.

Oddly, A was on on the group’s Japanese tour at the time, and had postponed all other important activities from Korea to focus solely on their Japanese concerts. It leaves one to wonder how A could find time to spend on dates. The members practically spent all day together, eating, and sleeping together. It would be next to impossible to avoid the eyes of the other members, so how did she do it?

A arrived in Japan before the other members and reserved a room on the same floor as where she and the other members were staying, and invited B to stay in that room. After her schedules, late at night, she secretly went over to the room B was staying in. They ate, played video games, and board games, among other things. When she returned to her members, she would tell them, ‘I went to exercise.’

The two kept their relationship secret and enjoyed their relationship but in the end were caught. During the concert, A collapsed from pain in her stomach and was diagnosed with an STD. The member and the company were extremely angry at this news and she completed her schedules depending on injections and medicine. She is still known to be treating her condition.

This wasn’t the end of the couples incidents. The two of them appeared often at a club in Gangnam, and surprised everyone with their strong show of love for each other. They sometimes spend time privately in a room, and at times got on stage and danced. At one time, B was surrounded by girls and A got angry and fought with him in front of all the other clubbers.

Their love for each other tracks back to last spring. The two didn’t fall for each other right away, but during the program they naturally grew close together and started developing feelings for each other.

B made a move first, visiting her at her home and for a month, he appealed to her sometimes showing his cute charms and sometimes acting strong. Their mutual friends helped in making the relationship happen. When A was unsure of B, those who knew Bcomplimented him. In reality, he is known to be a kind-hearted person who values friendship and trust above all. He has a very unique face, amazing talent and is also very good with words and is the ideal type of many women.

A is also a top star among top stars in the idol industry. Her sexy body along with her innocent face makes her sought after among many men. Her weight loss has also recently been a topic of issue.

Witness reports of their dates still continue six months after the incident. Whether A is holding up well against B‘s powerful manliness is apparently a topic of much interest among idol stars.”

Netizens have since been attempting to find out who ‘A’ and ‘B’ is but have come to a consensus that Woman Sense has probably switched dates in order to prevent people from finding out their identities too easily.

Girls’ Generation, KARA and Wonder Girls {K-Pop} Girl-Group Member Departures

Reblogged By:De De Tillman;  K-Pop – K-Drama;  Celebrity Blogger

Source: Koreaboo – 10Asia

Media: Koreaboo –  10Asia

On September 2014, Girls’ Generation became a group of 8, following steps of other recent girl-group member departures such as KARA and Wonder Girls.

Idols have been on an upward trend as of late, with the global power of Hallyu spreading across the world. From concerts in the US to Europe, there’s no doubt that K-Pop is a major trend. But now the first global wave of K-Pop is going through the hardest times of its history, and Girls’ Generation just joined the row.

While the very first idols of Korea in 1990’s suffered break-ups after 5 years, the 2nd generation of idols are seeing a massive loss of members.

Wonder Girls went through several member losses and recruitments, starting withHyuna, Sunmi, and now Sunye and Sohee. Although new recruits have been made, Wonder Girls never stood up again like their past, and after Sunye’s pregnancy and Sohee’s change in career to acting, the future of Wonder Girls seems quite bleak.

Kara recently made a new start after recruting their new member Youngji. Similar to Wonder Girls, Kara also faced departure of two core members, Kang Jiyoung andNicole Jung (Edit: KARA also lost member Kim Sunghee in 2008, 1 year after their debut). The remaining members and DSP Entertainment soon decided to recruit a new member through reality programmed audition, and eventually chose Youngji.

Although the two groups are not as popular as they used to be, they are definitely trying new methods. Wonder Girls is now focusing on Solo performances of the members, with Sunmi and Yenny successfully standing up as solo artists. Kara on the other hand is gaining positive responses with the recruit of their new member Youngji.

What will Girls’ Generation show us? The news of Jessica leaving the group surely was shocking, but nonetheless Girls’ Generation is still commencing their activities without her. The biggest issues Girls’ Generation faces is the absence of Jessica’s powerful vocals, which were key points in numerous Girls’ Generation songs.

What does this mean for the future of both the remaining members and departed members?

SKarf member Ferlyn will be leaving her current group in order to become a leader for a new and upcoming K-Pop girl group by the next Chinese New Year.

Alpha Entertainment’s girl group SKarf (2012) is comprised of Korean members Jenny and JooA, Singaporean members Ferlyn and Tasha, and Japanese member Hana, who is of Japanese nationality and grew up in Korea.

It has been reported by Singaporean media portal The New Paper (TNP) that Ferlyn will be leaving her current group in order to become the leader for a new K-Pop group, who will be singing songs in both Mandarin and Korean in hopes to make a new break in the Asian market.

The agency further reveals that they will be collaborating with Singaporean songwriters and choreographers in order to promote the new girl group. While Alpha Entertainment will focus on marketing and promoting both SKarf and the upcoming group, they will be managed by iGlobal Star.

The girl group has not been given a name yet, and a search for the remaining members will begin via auditions in Singapore for local talent. There are also plans to find members in Korea and other Asian countries. But, there is a possibility for SKarf members may also leave the group to join the new one as well.

Prior to the new girl group’s debut, it was revealed through TNP that Ferlyn will release her first solo album around Christmas. She says to the media outlet, “As for going solo, I am very thankful to my company for this opportunity to go further as an artist. But at the same time, it is very stressful as the focus will be on me for this solo album.”

“As for the new group, I hope I will be able to play the role as a leader well and to achieve that, I will keep on trying to improve myself.”

She adds the new girl group will bring fresh ideas and look to the K-Pop genre. “We look forward to giving K-Pop fans better music and entertaining performances.”

Alpha Entertainment’s Chief Executive Alan Chan reveals to TNP, following the debut of the new girl group, the agency is looking to debut a new male group as well.

He says to TNP, “Our aim from Day One has always been to have as many Singaporeans in these groups as possible, but market them using the Korean training and marketing system. We have always wanted to create something different and be a leader rather than a follower.”

“We strongly believe that Singapore has very good talent.”

What do you think of this change? Are you excited for Ferlyn leading a new group?
