T-ARA Is Changing Their Name

The quartet that we’ve always known to be T-ARA may not be called by that name anymore.

T-ARA’s former agency, MBK Entertainment has filed multiple copyrights to the name “T-ARA” as a trademark for their merchandise, performances, music, prints and more for the next 10 years.

They’ve filed for a copyright for nearly every aspect of the entertainment agency, making it virtually impossible for Eunjung, Hyomin, Qri, and Jiyeon to promote under the name T-ARA again.

Even if they re-debut under a new group name, the T-ARA members will have to pay royalty fees to MBK Entertainment should they wish to perform any of their old T-ARA songs.

KARA {Kpop} Rumored To Be Disbanding

With KARA‘s contract expiration date nearing with DSP Media, many netizens are suspecting that the group will not renew their contract and will instead disband.

On Pann, a netizen published on December 24th a post titled “Girl group who will disband,” naming girl group KARA and wrote, “Next year, KARA will enter their 9th year. Their contract is reaching near its end. Rumors going amongst fans is that Park Gyuri will be going to an film acting agency and Goo Hara will enter SM C&C. I don’t know about Han Seungyeon, but there is talk that none of these three will renew their contract.”

“There is also a rumor that DSP will be doing something with Youngji and Somin, who withdrew from April.”

DSP Media confirmed back in October 2015 that Park Gyuri, Han Seungyeon, and Goo Hara’s contract with the agency would indeed be expiring at the end of the year though a confirmation of a renewal has yet to be reported.

KARA originally debuted in 2007 as a four-member girl group (Gyuri, Seungyeon, Nicole,Sunghee) before going through their first lineup change in 2008. Member Sunghee left and the group welcomed two additional members, Hara and Jiyoung, where they found success as a group.

In 2011, the group underwent controversy when all of the members minus group leader Gyuri filed a suit against DSP Media, requesting contract termination. Goo Hara withdrew from the suit and rejoined the company, and four months later, the agency resolved their issues with the three remaining members.

In January 2014, Nicole officially withdrew from KARA after deciding not to renew her contract with Jiyoung also leaving with her own contract expiring in April 2014. A new member was recruited, Youngji, who joined on July 1st following the conclusion of the KARA Project.

“INFINITE Power”, an idol group specially formed for SBS drama “My Lovely Girl”, reveals a jacket photo and concert poster!

In the drama “My Lovely Girl,” “INFINITE Power” is the best Hallyu K-Pop group from AnA, Korea’s most successful entertainment company. The group consists of 4 members, including Kim Myungsoo and Lee Hoya of INFINITE, as well as Lee Daeyeol and Choi Seongyun. If you haven’t recognized the resemblence, Lee Daeyeol is the brother of INFINITE’s member Lee Sungyeol, while Choi Seongyun is a trainee. With jacket photos and a concert poster taken so professionally, it seems almost real that this is a new group that will soon debut in the K-pop industry.

Hoya will play the role of the group’s leader as Raeheon, while Myungsoo plays Shiwoo. Although “INFINITE Power” is just a group formed for the drama, all 4 members, including the non-INFINITE members, showed their coolness and charisma that would not lose out to real idol groups.

We can expect “INFINITE Power” to showcase their popularity and explosive energy through a passionate stage, as it is reported that they have already completed filming for their “MHDR” concert. Although “My Lovely Girl” has yet to premiere on television, “INFINITE Power” has already shown their power by receiving a lot of support and attention.

“My Lovely Girl” stars Rain and f(x)’s Krystal, and besides “INFINITE Power”, some other cast members include Chae Yeryun, Park Doosik, and BESTie‘s Na Haeryung.

“My Lovely Girl” will broadcast its first episode on September 17, taking over the timeslot of recently-ended “It’s Okay, That’s Love” on Wednesdays and Thursdays at 10PM (KST). Meanwhile, this upcoming drama has already released its fourth teaser clip, hyping things up for their potential viewers!
