Following the break-up between Taiwanese artiste Xiao Tian Tian and singer Daniel Chang (Zhang Feng Qi), there have been various reports on the former’s extreme methods to prevent the split previously.

It was reported in a Taiwanese magazine that Xiao Tian Tian was caught on camera when she intentionally scratched Daniel’s car. Yesterday, the singer verified that the pictured car indeed belongs to him and poured his grievances, saying, “I wanted to part on good terms, but she is unwilling.”

According to Daniel, Xiao Tian Tian even offered to help nab the culprit at first. He was shell shocked to find out that it was his ex-girlfriend who did it, after checking the CCTV footage. “I was so frightened that my knees went weak, but I didn’t call the police as she apologised and paid for the reparation,” he added.

Janet Hsieh’s Cooking Won The Heart Of Friend Now Boyfriend George Young

Find out how the Taiwanese-American host cooked her way into the heart of her BFF of ten years

“Yeah, it’s me.” George Young casually admitted when asked if the mystery man Janet Hsieh was gushing about to Taiwanese media was indeed him.

The pair has been best friends for ten years, but it wasn’t until earlier this month, on New Year’s Day, that they both started to “see each other differently”. In his first time addressing the rumour since it broke yesterday, George shared with us over a phone interview this afternoon that he was in Taiwan to visit friends and was staying with Janet (their relationship was still purely platonic at that point) when he fell sick – or rather, lovesick.

“Janet looked after me and cooked for me for the first time in a decade, which was amazing,” he raved. “And I just saw this whole other side of her, our friendship moved to another stage, and now we’re dating.”

George Young confirms he’s dating Janet Hsieh

So has he always had a crush on Janet? “She’s an attractive girl and I’ve always admired how grounded she is and how well she relates to people,” George said. “But I never fully opened my eyes and whenever it crossed my mind I would say, ‘But she’s my friend!’. Because of this, I now say to anyone: Keep an eye out, because The One might be in front of you all along.”

Over the weekend, both Janet and George posted separate pictures of themselves at W Hotel, prompting the romance rumours that turned out to be true.

“She was coming to Singapore to see me and since it was her birthday, I had to do something, so I thought it’d be nice to have a surprise getaway at this place we’ve been to a few times,” he said.

George, a self-professed poor surprise planner, concocted the whole scheme with the help of mutual friends and sneaky hotel staff. On the day itself, he invited Janet to the ritzy resort with the pretence of introducing her to a well-known photographer (whose name he made up). When they got to the room, they were greeted by all their friends and a birthday cake. “The surprise worked out and she had a really good time,” he happily reported.

George Young confirms he’s dating Janet Hsieh

Although it’s still a bit early for wedding bells, George said that since they’ve been friends for so long, they’re past the “getting to know each other phase”, but they still have to see how things work out. We quoted Janet’s thoughts on the matter to George (“[I] won’t think so much for now – I’m leaving it all to nature”) and he agreed.

As for children, George “definitely sees that as a potential”, but he doesn’t want to freak Janet out about it yet. “It’s something we’ve talked about, but we’re going to have to get married and sort out the logistics (their different career locations) first, and it’s hard to do that right now.”

In the meantime, the couple will rely on technology – instant messaging, video calls etc. – to keep their long distance relationship going. They’re also planning a trip to the United States later over the Chinese New Year period. “I’ll be in Los Angeles for about a month for work, and she’ll visit for a week and we’ll drive up to San Francisco together.”

Now that the cat’s out of the bag, will we be seeing George’s formal announcement on his various social media platforms – a la Lee Hom – soon? “I’m going to let Janet say something first,” he said. “But we have a few things in mind – you’ll see!”

Calvin Chen Feels Lonely Without His Band Members ‘Fahrenheit’

SCROLL DOWN FOR VIDEO LINK

Earlier this March at the invitation of Tourism Australia and Huat films, we went on a summer road trip and hit the road with the 3 Peas in a Pod crew for a behind-the-scenes peek at the movie’s filming in Melbourne. On the actors’ day off after a fulfilling lunch with the entourage, we sat by Melbourne’s Yarra River for a short tête-à-tête with boyband member-turned-actor Calvin Chen.

It’s a picturesque scene with a bustling backdrop of a winding river, street buskers and riverside cafes, but we are busy dabbing sweat off our brows and fanning away with makeshift fans. The temperature’s rising – not because we’re seated opposite a hunky-dory Calvin, but because of a weather anomaly that caused Australia’s record-breaking hottest summer since 1910…

Fixed with the Mr. Perfect idol image sculpted from his Fahrenheit boyband days, Calvin’s played student-type roles throughout his acting career which started in 2005. While he plays a university student again in the upcoming Michelle Chong-directed 3 Peas in a Pod, this might be the last time he’s doing such roles, confessed the 32-year-old.

“After all, ge ge (older brother in Mandarin) is not getting any younger and I’m more mature now,” he cheekily added during his exclusive interview with xinmsn.

Decked in brown hipster frames and a denim outfit, Calvin looks nothing like his geeky and honest onscreen character, Perry. Echoing our thoughts, he quipped, “This is one of the biggest reasons why I took on this role; I want to do more roles that are unlike me as it is more challenging.”

While age is the reason why he plans to veer from such roles, ageing however, is the least of his concerns now.

“You don’t have to chase after youth. You just have to do the right thing at the right age,” he rationalised, citing that the acting skills of Hong Kong actors Nicholas Tse and Louis Koo have matured with time and both actors now exude manly charm and onscreen charisma because of their age, too.

Apart from attributing his maturity as an age thing, going solo also emphasises the need to be “even more focused” at work because he’s now solely responsible for his own actions.Forced to grapple with new responsibilities and being in the company of two bubbly co-stars (Alexander Lee Eusebio and Jae Liew) opened a floodgate of memories as Calvin fondly spoke of the good times spent with his Fahrenheit members.

Sometimes I really do miss my other Fahrenheit members especially when I’m alone in a foreign country, I can’t help but feel a little lonely,” he let on. “I miss the noise and fun with the other three members. Although we’ll all be tired from our late nights the next morning, it feels good when we rally around each other.”Calvin also revealed that former Fahrenheit member Wu Chun even sent him a few messages when he found out about his Melbourne trip. “He (Wu Chun) asked: ‘Where are you going to shop? Where are you going to eat? It’s a pity I can’t join you!’” he added with a grin.

If it’s of any consolation to Fahrenheit fans hoping to see the quartet back together on stage, Calvin revealed the boys “do miss one another a lot” and make it a point to update each other of their latest whereabouts. While there may not be a reunion in sight, at least the boys will stay friends for life.

Taiwanese songstress Elva Hsiao may be regarded as a goddess in many male fans’ hearts, but not in boyfriend Kai Ko’s eyes.

At the promotional event for his latest romance movieTogether in Beijing, Kai sang high praises for his co-star Angelababy, and commented that he shared similar personalities with her.

“Both of us are very bubbly most of the time,” he quipped.

When asked to compare the level of attractiveness between Elva and his two onscreen girlfriends Michelle Chen and Angelababy, Kai bluntly replied, “I didn’t know [Elva] that well previously. Thus, she can’t be my goddess for life.”

After the press conference, Kai’s manager clarified that the Taiwanese actor was “quoted out of context”.

He explained, “Kai meant everyone will have different idols at various stages in their lives.”

THE PREVIOUS ARTICLE ON ARROY SHEN UNDERGOING BRAIN SURGERY:

14 Oct – It was revealed that former Taiwanese boy band Comic Boyz member, Arroy Shen, recently underwent a high-risk operation to remove a blood clot in his brain.

According to Groove Asia, Arroy Shen’s manager clarified the news, stating, “Arroy had a headache last month and went to the doctor’s. A blood clot was found in his brain.”

However, the manager revealed that the singer is still recovering and needs to rest after the operation, denying claims that Shen was in a state of coma and that his life was in danger.

His manager’s statement was backed by fellow Taiwanese artiste Yang Hsiu Hui, who visited him a few days ago, who said, “He does not seem to be in a situation as serious as what was reported in the news.”

Although he has regained consciousness after the operation, rumour has it that Arroy is still suffering from high fever and is unable to talk for now.

The 51-year-old had kept the existence of her 29-year-old daughter a secret up till her death

Shocker 1: Taiwanese singer Long Qianyu has a 29-year-old daughter.

Shocker 2: The daughter has died of drug overdose on July 30.

Fans were shocked when Qianyu admitted yesterday that Tsao Chunling, who was an outstanding student of the drama department in National Taiwan University of Arts, is her daughter with Taiwanese host Denny Tsao.

Explaining why she had kept her daughter’s existence a secret, she shared that the fact that she had a daughter would not have been condoned at the time, adding, “The misunderstandings and heartaches (that I endured) will never be understood by others – I can only suffer alone.” The singer, who was single at the time, has never married.

Qianyu, whose father died last year, has been having trouble dealing with the double blow of having to reveal her secret child and to cope with her death. She has declared that she will temporarily stop all work, and her brother expressed, “It’s unavoidable that she feels sad, but she will face it bravely.”

Qianyu has also revealed that she will not disclose further news of the circumstances surrounding her daughter’s death as she had expressed in her will that she would prefer for everything to be dealt with in a low-key manner. The singer shared that she was worried that it would become a source of negative inspiration for teenagers facing difficulties in life.

The coroner’s preliminary reports have suggested that Chunling had committed suicide, but officials have commented that they will have to retrieve her past medical history to make an accurate diagnosis.

AWWW … Just like a scene taken from a Taiwan melodrama, Mandopop star Ella Chen and her Malaysian husband, Alvin Lai, held their lavish wedding reception at a hotel in Malacca last Saturday night.

Oh, boy, security at the event was tight! A dozen Rela members and 10 bodyguards were hired by the Lai family to keep pressmen and fans at bay.

A source from the hotel told Star2 that the groom paid an estimated RM112,000 for the wedding reception.

“He paid RM1,400 per table and asked for 80 tables,” the source added. “Alvin comes from a well-to-do family. His parents wouldn’t allow him to marry a superstar like Ella if he didn’t have the money.”

The couple’s romantic ivory white wedding extravaganza was attended by around 800 family members and friends of the 35-year-old groom who hails from Malacca.

Mind you, Chen, 30, had four costume changes at her Malaysian wedding do.

“Hosting our wedding reception here gives me a different feel,” said the blushing bride shortly before the feast began. “The weather is hot. But I’m happy and I’ll try to be a good Malaysian daughter-in-law (and wife).”

Asked if she’s used to being called Mrs Lai, a radiant Chen held her hubby’s hand and said, “I’m so used to it already.”

Their yam seng (toast) party ended around midnight.

Earlier in the morning, Chen had met her in-laws according to full Chinese wedding tradition, Hokkien-style.

While her hubby was offered two apples (for good luck) by her nephew as he arrived at the hotel in a Porsche Cayenne, she was sheltered with a hand-woven tray by a tai kam jie (the lady-in-waiting or chaperon) and wore a veil as she was whisked away to the Lai family mansion in Ujong Pasir.

The newlyweds served tea to the groom’s parents as a show of respect. They also offered prayers at the Lai ancestral altar.

The ceremony was witnessed by Chen’s parents who had flown in from Taipei to give the bride away.

Having stayed in Malacca since last Wednesday, the super busy couple returned to Taipei on Sunday.

“We have to put our honeymoon plans on hold ’coz we’re just too busy working,” Chen said. “No plans to have a baby for the next two years but if God wants to give us our bundle of joy soon, we’ll accept it happily.”

The couple had dated for a year before they tied the knot in a glitzy, star-studded affair in Taipei on May 5.

Wilber Pan, who had once admitted to liking Jolin Tsai, praised S.H.E. member Hebe Tien for being “cute and pretty” yesterday.

At an event for the 2012’s Metro Street Dance Competition in Taiwan yesterday, which the singer is ambassador of, Wilber gave a candid shout-out to Jolin Tsai, , whom he had admitted to admire in 2005.

“You must still like me,” Wilber jokes, before giving his blessings to Jolin, who is currently in a stable relationship with model Vivian Dawson.

The 31-year-old went on to lavish praises on fellow singer Hebe saying that she is “very cute, and is getting prettier”.

Wilber also added that the songstress is “full of talent and (will have) a lot of guys will fall in love with her.”

However, when the media present informed him that Singaporean singer JJ Lin likes Hebe too, even to the extent of calling her his “goddess”, Wilber appeared shocked and expressed his disbelief.

Singapore singer, JJ Lin, failed to get any nominations for this year’s Taiwan Golden Melody Awards, leading many to question the ceremony’s credibility.

JJ expressed his disappointment at not receiving a nomination on his microblog yesterday. The singer added that he “respects the judges’ decisions” and believed that “it is more important if everyone accepts my music.”

“There’s no need to console me [for not getting nominated] because I know I still have a long way, and many more good songs to write. I believe that in the music scene, good music will be the music that can be accepted by everyone,” the 31-year-old continued in the post on his microblog.

JJ’s statement received support from netizens and the singer’s “goddess”, S.H.E. member Hebe Tien reposted his message for the first time, adding that JJ is “very good! I acknowledge your work!”

This caused a buzz on the Internet as netizens urged the pair to “get together” and joked with JJ that “Hebe’s encouragement is better than received a Golden Melody Award.”

Fellow S.H.E. member, JJ’s good friend Ella Chen even teased the singer, “This time round, you are on cloud nine!!”

Taiwan actress Zhu Hui-zhen (朱慧珍) had the saddest of Mother’s Day
as on Sunday as her only daughter died after jumping off a tall building.
The 26-year-old Zhu An-jie (朱安婕) leapt from the window of the apartment her mom rents on the 10th floor in Taipei.
She left two short notes behind, saying she was foolish and hoped the media would not disturb her family.
Hui-zhen, 50, rushed back to Taipei from Kaohsiung, southern Taiwan, where she was attending a religious event.
Her manager said the mother and daughter pair was quite close and often talked to each other on the phone.
There were, apparently, no signs that An-jie would commit suicide.
Hui-zhen gave birth to An-jie while dating actor Xing Feng (邢峰).
But the two broke up soon after their daughter was born and have not been on speaking terms ever since.
According to Xinmsn,Taiwanese actress Zhu Hui-zhen’s daughter, Zhu An-Jie, is suspected to have committed suicide on Mothers’ Day, leaving behind a note that said, “I am silly…Please allow me to leave quietly.”

The Unforgettable Memory actress gave birth to An-jie while dating actor, Xing Feng. The pair broke up after a year and are not on speaking terms since then. It is rumoured that that Hui-zhen forbids her daughter from visiting Xing Feng, to which the actress angrily refuted yesterday, “I swear with my life that I’ve never stopped my daughter from meeting her birth father”

The 50-year-old claimed that she asked An-jie to visit her father but the latter refused to do so, revealing that Xing Feng has not asked about their daughter over the years.

In response to Hui-zhen’s accusations, Xing Feng’s manager claimed that “it is impossible to be indifferent when you know you have a child out there,” adding that it is too late for any more talks and “hopes to resolve everything soon.”
