Whitney Houston’s ex-husband Bobby Brown struck back at claims he was responsible for getting the pop star hooked on drugs or that he somehow played a role in her cocaine-fueled death in February.

“I’m not the one that got Whitney on drugs, at all,” Brown said in an interview to be aired this week on the “Today” show on U.S. television network NBC.

“I’m not the reason she’s gone,” he added.

Houston, 48, was found dead in a Beverly Hills hotel bathtub on February11 from what authorities called accidental drowning brought on by cocaine use and heart disease. White powder and drug paraphernalia were found in the bathroom where she died.

The singer had spoken publicly about a long battle with cocaine, marijuana and crack, particularly during her tempestuous 15-year marriage to Brown. They divorced in 2007, but some fans and members of Houston’s family have blamed Brown for her untimely death.

In his first TV interview since the singer died, Brown, 43, told “Today” show host Matt Lauer that he had been off drugs for seven years and was hurt to hear that Houston had been using cocaine.

“I was hurt … because, you know, me being off of narcotics for the last seven years – I felt that she was, you know, I didn’t know she was struggling with it still. But at the same time, you know – listen, it’s a hard fight,” he said.

Brown said drugs were part of Houston’s life before he met her in 1991. “I smoked weed, I drank the beer, but no, I wasn’t the one that got Whitney on drugs at all,” he said.

“So this was a part of her life before you and she got together?” Lauer asked.

“Way, way before. Yeah … It’s just, it’s just unexplainable – how one could, you know, (say that I) got her addicted to drugs. I’m not the reason she’s gone,” Brown replied.

Brown said Houston had a “glow about her” when he last saw her about a week before she died. He was at a restaurant having dinner with their daughter, Bobbi Kristina.

“She just looked like she was in a good place,” he said about the “I Will Always Love You” singer.

The interview will be aired on “Today” show on Wednesday and Thursday.

Brown turned up for Houston’s funeral in New Jersey but left before the service started saying he felt unwanted and disrespected.

Six weeks after Houston died, Brown was arrested and charged in Los Angeles with drunk driving and driving on a suspended license. Brown has pleaded not guilty.

Whitney Houston’s autopsy has been released, revealing sad details about the day the singer died.

The 48-year-old diva was discovered face down in a bathtub at the Beverly Hilton by her assistant, who had left to run an errand at a high end department store. Houston’s assistant and bodyguard pulled her from the water.

A “spoon with a white crystal like substance in it” was discovered in the room, as were “a plethora of prescription medication bottles” belonging to Houston and “multiple blister packs.” A “white powdery substance” was discovered on a portable mirror found in a drawer.

Houston died in February of “drowning and effects of atherosclerotic heart disease and cocaine use,” according to a toxicology report. Cocaine, marijuana and prescription drugs was present in Houston’s system at the time of her death.

She was mourned by family members, as well as her mentor Clive Davis, Tyler Perry. Kevin Costner, Stevie Wonder and other celebrities, during a televised funeral ceremony later that month.

Earlier this week, a first look at Houston’s performance in the film “Sparkle” was released, providing yet another sad reminder of a great talent lost too soon.

WHITNEY HOUSTON FULL AUTOPSY REPORT:

The Los Angeles coroner today released its 42-page final report on the death of Whitney Houston.

Click here to download a .pdf of the document.

According to the report, investigators discovered drug paraphernalia and apparent narcotics residue in the Beverly Hilton Hotel room where Houston, 48, died on February 11. The entertainer “possibly overdosed on a narcotic substance, prescription medications, over the counter medications and alcohol.”

Houston, who was discovered face down in a bathtub by friends, had traces of cocaine, marijuana, and several prescription medications in her system at the time of her death, the cause of which has been listed as accidental drowning (with heart disease and chronic cocaine use as contributing factors in her demise).

Dated March 29, the report concluded that Houston’s death was “due to drowning due to effects of atherosclerotic heart disease and cocaine use. No foul play is suspected. The mode of death is accident.”

The report also notes that a criminalist actually “used a sexual assault kit” on Houston in the hotel room where she died. The investigator “later booked the pubic hair kit, the fingernail clippings, the hair standards, and the sexual assault kit at the Forensic Services Center as evidence.”

The autopsy report does not reveal why such a rape kit was deemed necessary, beyond noting that it was “per Departmental Protocol” and that “nothing remarkable being noted.”

And since such invasive reports leave no details unexamined, coroner’s officials made sure to note that Houston had a “perforation of posterior nasal septum” and McGhan breast implants (size: 230 cc).

Authorities recovered cocaine in the hotel room where Whitney Houston died … TMZ has learned.

As for the quantity of cocaine that was found, official documents show one of the items police recovered was “white, powdery remnants.” Sources tell us the powder was tested and it’s cocaine.

We’re told Beverly Hills detectives are NOT investigating rumors that someone removed cocaine from the room, because they’re convinced it wasn’t removed.

Sources directly involved in the investigation told TMZ early on … no illegal drugs were recovered from the room. We have circled back with these sources who now tell us they were unaware at the time that cocaine was present.

Ray J Was Whitney Houston’s Cocaine “Runnerboy” Claims Leolah Brown (Video)

According to Us Weekly, Bobby Brown‘s sister Leolah Brown claims that she knows how Whitney Houston got the cocaine that was found in her system the day she died — and her finger is pointed right at Ray J.

But Ray J‘s rep tells Us Weekly,  that Leolah’s remarks on CNN’s Headline News with Dr. Drew Thursday, where she accuses Brandy Norwood‘s younger brother as being a “runnerboy,” are “rife with false statements.”

“Even though Leolah Brown was nowhere near the Beverly Hilton Hotel on the day Whitney Houston died, Ms. Brown falsely claimed that Ray J was at the hotel and contributed to Whitney Houston’s death,” Ray J’s rep says. “Even the most minimal inquiry with anyone actually in contact with Whitney would reveal that Leolah Brown had been out of contact with Whitney for more than a year.”

On Thursday, the L.A. Coroner’s office released the results from Houston’s autopsy that ruled her main cause of death as an accidental drowning.

The legendary singer, who was found submerged under water inside a bathtub in her Beverly Hills hotel room February 11, also had traces of cocaine in her system and was suffering from effects of heart disease at the time of her death. The report rules out foul play and trauma.

Earlier this month, Houston’s on-and-off love, 31, says he’s still hurting inside over the loss.

“It’s just such a tough time for me. I’ve been through a lot in these past few weeks. I’m really emotional right now and I really don’t know what to say,” Ray J said during a charity press conference.

“The most important thing of all is that God is talking to me. God is talking to me right now, and now is the time to listen,” he concluded. “My ears are open.”

WHITNEY HOUSTON

According to AP, Coroner’s officials have ruled Whitney Houston died by drowning, but heart disease and cocaine use were contributing factors.

The announcement Thursday ends weeks of speculation about what killed the Grammy-winning singer on Feb. 11.

Houston was found submerged in the bathtub of her room at the Beverly Hilton Hotel on the eve of the Grammy Awards.

Several bottles of prescription medications were found in her hotel room, but coroner’s officials said they weren’t in excessive quantities.

Coroner’s spokesman Craig Harvey says cocaine metabolites were found in Houston’s system, and it was listed as a contributing factor in her death. He says the results indicated Houston was a chronic cocaine user.

The eyebrow-raising relationship between Whitney Houston’s daughter and the man raised by the singer as a son may have gone one big, baffling step further.
Just a little over a month after Houston died, Bobbi Kristina Brown, 19, was spotted with a ring on her engagement finger following days of very public PDA with Nick Gordon.
One source tells PEOPLE, “Yes, they are engaged, but the family is trying to coax her away from it. ”
Another source says, “Nick asked Krissi about a week ago to marry him” and that she’s wearing a ring that once belonged to her mom. But the source doesn’t know if Brown said yes.

The source does believe that Brown’s grandmother, Cissy Houston, “is worried.”
Brown and Gordon, 22, have been spotted getting affectionate in public recently, sharing kisses and holding hands while running errands in Atlanta.
The two have been living together in Houston’s house and have known each other for years. Gordon reportedly was taken in by Houston more than a decade ago and had been living with the family in her Atlanta home.
There is no evidence, however, he was ever legally adopted by Houston, who died on Feb. 11 at age 48
A close family friend hinted at their relationship, though, telling PEOPLE, “I have always felt there was some interest beyond a platonic interest in each other.”

According to TMZ,  Whitney Houston’s 19-year-old daughter Bobbi Kristina got inconceivably richer the day her mother died — because the singer left Bobbi 100% of her assets in her will … an estate valued at around $20 million.
According to reports, Whitney’s will doesn’t enumerate specific assets — but she leaves ALL furnishings, clothing, personal effects, jewelry and cars to her surviving children … i.e. Bobbi.

According to reports, Houston’s money will be put in a trust — which Bobbi will have access to in stages … earning a portion when she turns 21, another chunk when she turns 25, and the rest when she turns 30.
The will was just filed today in Atlanta. Whitney signed it back in 1993, a month before she gave birth to Bobbi.

According to Us Weekly, Whitney Houston‘s 18-year-old daughter has agreed to sit down with Oprah Winfrey for a March 11 chat as part of the talk show titan’s Oprah’s Next Chapter, the OWN network confirmed Friday.

Also including interviews with the late singer’s sister-in-law/manager Patricia Houston and brother, Gary Houston, the one-hour special will allow Bobbi Kristina to “[share] personal memories of her mom and how she would like the iconic superstar to be remembered.”

Sources tell Us Weekly, Whitney’s teen daughter with ex Bobby Brown has taken the loss especially hard.

“Her mama died, so she broke down. Nobody expected her to pass as quickly as she did. [Bobbi Kristina] had a nervous breakdown,” Houston family member Ray Watson told Us of the teen, who was hospitalized for stress and anxiety one day after her mother was found dead February 11 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel.

In the face of criticism over what some have  described as a “shameful” decision to put Whitney  Houston’s corpse on the cover of their magazine this week, the publisher of  the National Enquirer told FoxNews.com that she thought the cover was a work of  art.

“I thought it was beautiful,” publisher Mary Beth  Wright told FoxNews.com.

Fellow members of the media attacked the  publication’s decision as tasteless and morbid.

The Washington Post declared that “a line had been  crossed.” The website Jezebel called it morbid and the site The Daily  Caller added: “Running an image of Whitney Houston’s lifeless body on the  cover is pretty par for the course for The National Enquirer, but it’s still a  bit much.”

The photo shows the late singer dead in a gold casket with the headline, “Whitney: The Last Photo!” The image is believed to have been taken inside the  Whigham Funeral Home in Newark, New Jersey. Accompanying headlines lure readers  in with the promise to bring them inside Whitney’s private funeral, offering  details that she was buried in $500,000 of jewelry with gold slippers on her  feet.

Houston, 48, was found submerged in the bath tub in  her Beverly Hills hotel room earlier this month.

The photograph does not bear a credit, and The  Enquirer is not releasing any details about how they obtained it. No one from  Houston’s family has called the photograph out as fraudulent.

Magazine photo editors estimated that a coffin  photograph like the one published by the Enquirer could sell in the mid six -figure range or even higher.

This isn’t the first time The Enquirer has published  photographs of dead or dying celebrities. In 1977 the mag published a photograph  of the singer Elvis  Presley in his coffin. They published a photograph of John  Lennon following his death in 1980.

“The Enquirer struck again with  its latest cover featuring Whitney Houston in a casket. It’s just another  disgusting display of how low celebrity obsession can stoop. Regardless of how  they obtained the picture — and the likely exorbitant price they paid for it,  the Enquirer should have thought twice about this post-mortem portrait,” Denise  Warner, the Executive Editor of the website HollywoodLife.com told Fox411. “No  one needs to remember Whitney preserved in formaldehyde. And it’s certainly not  an image that is necessary in the discussion of her life and death.”

When polled on Wednesday, over  100,000 FoxNews.com readers weighed in on the National Enquirer cover. Forty  percent of FoxNews.com readers said that the Enquirer publishing the photographs  was a shame, but par for the course for them. Thirty-seven percent said that it  was reprehensible and 21 percent said they saw absolutely nothing wrong with  it.

“Whoever sold that photo of  Whitney Houston in her coffin to the National Enquirer sold their soul in the  process,” one fan tweeted yesterday.

Another added on the social media  site: “So ppl really scooped this low by selling Whitney Houston dead in her  coffin photo shame on you, she can’t even rest in peace.”

While the tabloid magazine was the  first to publish actual photographs of Houston’s body, her funeral on Saturday  was covered by just about every mainstream media outlet in the world. The AP’s  livestream of the funeral had a reported 2 million viewers.

Whitney Houston Son Nicholas Gordon Is He In Her Will?

Blogged By: De De Tillman

Source & Full Story: CVT News – La Tray

Posted: Sunday February 26, 2012 @ 3:04 am PST

According to CVT, Whitney Houston’s secret ‘son’ is set to get a share of her £20 million fortune.

The 48-year-old singer — who died two weeks ago — took Nick Gordon into her home in Atlanta, Georgia, when he was a youngster to save him from his troubled background and while she never officially adopted him, she thought of him as her own.

Nick, 22 — who would call Whitney “Mom” — also became like a brother to the ‘I Will Always Love You’ hitmaker’s 18-year-old daughter Bobbi Kristina.

And although Whitney — who battled drink and drug addiction — blew most of her fortune, she is believed to have left £20 million and her family say Nick will get a share.

A source told The Sun newspaper: “Nick was family, she loved him as much as any mother could love a child. If he is not written into her will and everything goes to Bobbi then it will only be because it was written before she took Nick into her family.

“If that’s the case, Bobbi will make sure Nick is taken care of because it’s what her mom would have wanted and he’s like a brother.”

Following Whitney’s tragic death, Nick took to his twitter page to pay tribute to her.

He wrote: “Rest in peace. Thank you for all your support. The legend will always and forever.

Whitney Houston’s Family Version On Why Bobby Brown Left The Funeral

Blogged By: De De Tillman

Source & Story: E!online

Posted: Thursday  February 23, 2012 @12:25 AM PST

According to E!online, Whitney Houston’s  family version of events about Bobby  Brown‘s abrupt exit from his ex-wife’s funeral was discussed Tuesday with The Frank and Wanda Morning  Show on Atlanta’s V103.

Houston family attorney Mark Trigg claimed that a  combination of Brown not adhering to agreed-upon seating arrangements and  bringing uninvited guests with him led to the kerfuffle that saw him leave just  moments after arriving at Newark, N.J.’s New   Hope Baptist Church.

Here’s how Trigg says things went down:

Trigg claims that Brown agreed he would sit in the first three pews reserved  for Houston’s family and his three older children would sit with his brother Tommy a few rows behind. But once the service started, the  lawyer says Bobby invited the trio to join him.

“When that happened, security discreetly, politely, respectfully said, ‘Bobby  you’re welcome to stay here but we need to ask the three children to go sit with  their uncle given space limitations.’ That was the deal and there shouldn’t have  been any problem at that point. But for whatever reason, he took offense at  that.”

There was also an issue with Bobby attempting to communicate with Bobbi Kristina—his 18-year-old daughter with Whitney. According  to Trigg, Bobbi Kristina wanted to be left alone but Brown did not “respect her  and her wishes during the service.” Trigg says that if his daughter had  intervened, security would “not stand in the way” and would have made sure they  connected.

But once security blocked him, he decided to leave.

“For whatever reason he decided he just wanted to leave the service. So he  got his three children, went up and kissed the casket, and they walked out of  the service,” said Trigg, noting that Brown previously told the family he  wouldn’t be staying past 2 p.m. anyway as he had a concert with New  Edition later that night.

Trigg’s account jibes with Brown’s own statement to E! News following his  departure: “We were seated by security and then subsequently asked to move on   three separate occasions. I fail to understand why security treated my  family  this way and continue to ask us and no one else to move. Security then prevented  me from attempting to see my daughter  Bobbi Kristina. In light of the events, I  gave a kiss to the casket of  my ex-wife and departed as I refused to create a  scene.”

Despite the misunderstanding, Trigg says he sympathizes with the R&B  star.

“It had to be a difficult time for him,” he said. “None of us exercise our  best judgment when we’re under that kind of emotional strain. So I certainly  don’t stand in judgment of him.”

As for why Houston’s mom, Cissy, didn’t allow Brown to speak  at her funeral, Trigg would only say that such a decision ultimately rested with  the family.

Cissy herself penned an open letter to her daughter that was included with  the funeral program. After expressing her deep love for Whitney, Cissy revealed  she had a premonition of Houston’s sudden death at age 48 and feared this day might come.

“You always gave without expecting anything in return and our love was the  force that multiplied these blessings higher and higher,” wrote Cissy. “I never  told you that when you were born the Holy Spirit told me that you would not be  with me long and I thank God for the beautiful flower he allowed me to raise and  cherish for 48 years.”

According to FoxNews, Whitney  Houston was refused plastic  surgery when she failed a routine medical examination — just two weeks  before her death, RadarOnline reported.

The plastic surgeon, Dr. Marc Mani, declined to  perform a facelift on the “I Will Always Love You” singer when she failed a  medical check for her heart, lung and liver, a source told the gossip site.

“She was concerned about her appearance and wanted a  facelift,” the source said.

Houston was found dead in a bathtub at the Beverly  Hilton hotel.

The surgeon refused to comment on the claims citing  federal medical privacy laws.

The cause of death is yet to be determined pending  toxicology tests but preliminary results revealed sedatives were found in the  star’s system. Houston’s funeral takes place Saturday.

Prescription pill bottles of Xanax,  Lorazepam, Valium  and others were also said to be found by detectives.

Sources close to the New Edition singer tell TMZ … Bobby really wants to be there for Bobbi Kristina, but does not want to make the situation more stressful for her than it already is.
We’re told Bobby was very upset with how he was treated at Whitney’s funeral yesterday and feels her family should be as considerate to him as his family was to Whitney when Bobby’s mother passed away last year.
According to our sources, Bobby won’t bring lawyers into the situation and, as on source said, he feels “this sort of thing you let the higher power handle.”

According to CNN,  Singer Bobby Brown said: “My children and I were invited to the funeral of my ex-wife Whitney Houston,” Brown later said in a statement. “We were seated by security and then subsequently asked to move on three separate occasions. I fail to understand why security treated my family this way and continued to ask us and no one else to move. Security then prevented me from attempting to see my daughter Bobbi Kristina.

“In light of the events, I gave a kiss to the casket of my ex-wife and departed as I refused to create a scene. … I will continue to pay my respects to my ex-wife the best way I know how,” the statement said.

Brown was expected to attend with two guests but showed up with 10 people, a close friend of the Houston family told CNN on condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of the issue.

“The family approached Bobby and told him that he could stay in the area reserved for family, but that his guests would need to move to a different section to make room for Cissy (Houston) and the rest of the family,” the family friend said. “Bobby said no.”

When Brown refused, the family asked police to intervene.

“The police told Bobby that he could stay in the area reserved for family, but that his guests needed to move,” the friend said. “Bobby said no, and left with all of his guests.”

The family friend maintained that Brown was always invited to the funeral.

“There was never a question of whether he would be invited or not,” the friend said.

Describing what happened at the service, the Rev. Al Sharpton posted on his Twitter account: “I am at Whitney’s funeral. I spoke with Bobby Brown trying to calm him down and not distract from the services. Today is about Whitney.”

Brown was scheduled to perform with his group, New Edition, later Saturday in Connecticut. Brown considers performing as therapy to get him through a difficult time, a source close to him said Sunday.

He and Houston were married from 1992 until 2007, with Houston getting sole custody of their daughter, Bobbi Kristina Brown, when they divorced. Their daughter was born in 1993.

What an awful way for the family to get the news.
